I had the pleasure of taking a cooking class at Cooked to Perfection in East Rockaway with who else but the LI Foodie, Erminio Fiore. I didn’t know really what we were getting into, but we had a really fun time! The space is clean, modern and oh, so welcoming. You feel right at home with owners Phyllis, Andrew and their son John.
The Corella family knows their way around a kitchen. They offer some fantastic classes for adults and kids alike. They also rent their facilities for testing recipes and private events. They put together some great programs for scouts as well as really fun kid’s classes; did I mention their recipes are sooo good? This is definitely the perfect place for a girl’s night out, date night, kid’s birthday party, or just to learn how to make a fabulous dish.
Right away we felt like we were cooking with family. The Corellas showed us how to cook up some mouth-watering dishes. We started off with a soft cheese which we made from scratch. We smeared the soft cheese on some toast with drizzled honey. It was unbelievable and so easy! You could serve that up at any party with endless topping options! Who knew homemade would be so easy? We then prepared what can only be described as superb cheese manicotti and ended with an amazing perfectly cooked salmon topped with a yummy butter, caper sauce and roasted tomatoes…. My mouth waters as I recall the deliciousness we cooked up. I can taste it all over again and -oh, was it good. They take their time showing you the recipes and really make it so easy. I added my newly learned meals to my recipe arsenal and even cooked up the manicotti for my family who ate it up and loved it!
They offer so many different types of classes such as teen Crepe night, baking breads, pasta classes, gnocchi and filet mignon, gluten free night and so many more! They have a great variety of options to suit your tastes. Click here to see their calendar and plan away the perfect girl’s night, date night or cooking class for your child! I should also mention that they have their canning license and make their own jellies. I took home a mint jelly that is officially my FAVORITE!
This is the perfect place to sit back and chat with your girls or your date while you cook up a delicious meal and sip some wine- NO CLEANING REQUIRED! That’s what I call the perfect ending!
